Bayern Munich: Why Does The Bundesliga Look So Easy To Them?

Bayern Munich are the most dominant German football team of all time.

And it isn’t even close.

They have dominated the Bundesliga for as long as anyone can remember and it seems as though that won’t come to an end anytime soon.

But how have they done this? How have they monopolized the league and achieved such unprecedented success? Let’s find out.

  1. Bayern got the Olympia Stadium as a gift back then which gave them a massive financial boost in the 70's.
Thats why Gladbach fell down and they dominated

  2. I'm from Munich but grew up as a TSV 1860 München fan, "the other" Munich club, listening to the tales of the Meisterschaft 1966.
We're in the 3rd division now. Generally I would describe being an 1860 fan as a humbling experience, but the fans who are left are real ones.

  3. In the US they talk about the New York Yankees dominating baseball, but the Yankees have won 29 championships in 120 years. 30 championships in 50 years? This sounds like in the old Soviet Hockey League, how the Red Army team would win the championship every year because if another team found a good player, he'd get drafted into the Army, LOL.

The US public TV network PBS used to carry a Bundesliga "Match of the Week" show called "Soccer Made In Germany" back in the late 70's and early 80's, and I used to watch it regularly, so ended up following the Bundesliga. That was the Rummenigge-Breitner Bayern. They were a great team, but I remember also Hamburg and Wereder Bremen being powerful teams and the equal of Bayern. I haven't followed soccer in a long time, but now I understand that Hamburg & Werder Bremen aren't even in the Bundesliga anymore. They've been relegated! That's terrible! But Bayern keeps on winning.

One other thing. Breitner was my favorite player. Then one day I hear him interviewed and he talks about how much he hates the United States, LOL. I think he was more of a supporter of the Baader-Meinhof faction. Oh well, so it goes with the heroes of our youth.

  4. RB Leipzig doesn’t mean Red Bull Leipzig, it’s RasenBallsport because of 50+1.

But there are 2 Clubs that are 100% by companies – Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg(VW)

  5. correction, Red Bull does not "make" energy drinks, they only are included in the marketing of them/ their brand… the actual manufacturing of them is offloaded onto other companies… this is part of the reason why you see the Red Bull brand buying up numerous soccer clubs in Germany, USA, and France etc… they are continuing to market their brand, drink, while pushing their way into the footballing world with cooperative farm teams that can grow players and cycle them to the top leagues (under their control) without unreasonable transfer fees getting in the way, therefore more easily creating effective super teams maybe one day… the more you know

  6. LOL I think you showed why Bayern owns the Bundesliga in the first 10 seconds. The rest of the Bundesliga is just another youth academy for Bayern. But it does take a good eye to poach the right players that fits the team, which they have done exceptionally well.

  7. I think I just noticed a bit of a misconception when it comes to what a salary cap is at 17:00, a salary cap is not a limit on how much money an individual can make. But it's a limit on how much money a team can spend. Take the NHL, which has a salary cap of 81.5 million dollars. Now, there's a few wacky rules that they have that have zero correlation to football due to the massive league structure differences, but the overall premise is that the annual player salaries cannot be higher than 81.5 million dollars. I dont think anyone would ever propose an individual salary limit on how much a single player can make, even the MLS with their salary cap has designated players specifically so they can bypass that, but a limit on aggregate wages would be an interesting proposal.

  8. We have a similar team in Norway which has a history of dominating Eliteserien (Norway's Bundesliga). It's the team from Trondheim called "Rosenborg" being champions 26 times since 1937. And they're the ones who have held the champion titlde for the longest. With the period between 1992 and 2003 being the time they dominated the longest. But they've won several other times, tho not consecutively. It's only recently they've seen a decline where a couple other teams have been able to win the series. Those teams being Brann, Molde, Stabæk, Strømsgodset, Vålerenga, and most recently from 2020 to now, the legendary team that Jose Mourinho has nightmares about, Bodø Glimt.

    Cities of the mentioned teams
    Rosenborg: Trondheim
    Brann: Bergen
    Molde: Molde
    Stabæk: Bærum
    Strømsgodset: Drammen
    Vålerenga: Oslo
Bodø Glimt: Bodø (My home! Bodø Glimt førr evig! <3 <3 <3)

  10. easy when you can always buy your rival star players at whimp. remember bayer leverkusen? bayern bought their backbones in 2002 and they have never been the same eversince, same with werder bremen, schalke, and borussia dortmund.

  11. I honestly started watching Bayern because of Alaba and the awesome uniform but when it comes to German teams I like Dortmund because they always produce great young players instead of signing big names

But idk Bayern will always have me watching them I guess it's because I'm a Man U fan and a Yankees fan I'm just attracted naturally to good teams before I even realize they are that good.

  12. This is a different case than PSG. PSG may dominate their league but they SUCK on Champions League. Bayern Munich has managed to extend their dominion on Germany over Europe.
This makes coaches like Jurgen Klopp lot better because his dortmund wasn't only able to cut Bayern's streak, but twice, not only Bundesliga but Pokal as well. And yes, Bayern buys the best players of other teams but they don't point guns on players' heads.

  13. another fun fact: 90% of all BPL fans have no domestic football league at all in their home country, so they pick ManCity or Chelsea as their favorite club, and start talking shit about the Bundesliga. I'm sorry if you feel addressed.

  14. As a BVB fan for almost 10 years now, I'm just pissed, not at Bayern, but at BVB for actually allowing this to happen, after Tuchel left, I've never felt that we could actually win the league with any other manager, mainly because of terrible signings on the defense, and not a lot of continuity on most players, I think the culture can't be established to allow for a challenger mentality, I think they all just want to grow and go somewhere else, and I can't blame them, it's easier to try somewhere else than trying to dethrone Bayern every single year, being a BVB fan is exhausing, I can't imagine what players feel… then again some decisions in the management have been bad, like letting Lewa go for $0, I wish we would have sold him the year before and took a hit that year, we've been amazing at replacing our strikers, no matter who goes, the next one does just as well, so I wish we had cashed in on Lewandowski to bring extra talent to the team, especially on defense, as the youth academy has produced next to nothing in those positions lately. If someone dethrones Bayern, either A. It's not gonna be soon, or B. it's not gonna be us, we are stuck, and as Haaland leaves I can just hope we make spectacular signings with the money, also hoping every german team not called "Bayern Munich" stopped selling players to Bayern Munich…

  15. how about a winning cap? Cap at 10 consecutive wins. 😛
If you win 10th consecutive title, you drop down to 2nd division to improve the standards there 😛
For the greater good, right? That's how socialism works 😛

  16. lets be honest here, bayern fans are not really dedicated to their club. Just lose 3 games in a row and the stadium would be half full, in contrast to dortmund or hoffenheim

  17. The fact that Bayern dominates Germany and is a possible title contender in Europe without any external sources of money really shows how well the manage their finances and transfers.

  18. HEY! i have to say that you pronounced the players names pretty good!! im actually a Dortmund Fan but i dont hate the Bayerns because im living in Bavaria. Have a nice time guys
