Silly conspiracies here it is simple; he misjudged the spin of the ball and on impact the wetness/slipperiness from the downpour caused the ball to slip on the contact area of his foot on impact.

It’s unfortunate but really not crazy considering the keeper received a stupid pass to begin with, had to act in an instant and try the make the best of it, and dealing with a very wet ball and conditions.
